Hallo zusammen, der nächste gemeinsame Call der AG Open Science, der deutschen Research Software Engineers und des German Reproducibility Networks (GNR) wird morgen (Mittwoch der 07. Juli 2021) um 11:00-12:00 stattfinden. Wie immer sind alle sind herzlich eingeladen Themen vorzuschlagen, Fragen zu stellen und eigene Projekte sowie Aktionen zu präsentieren. Liebe Kollegen und Kolleginnen, wir laden Sie herzlich zu unserem Online Barcamp Open Data - Forschen mit verfügbaren Daten ein. Forschungsdaten anderen langfristig und offen zugänglich zu machen und selbst mit Daten anderer zu Forschen sind Open Science Praktiken, die zunehmend gefordert werden. Im Sinne der offenen Wissenschaft soll Forschung der (Fach-)Öffentlichkeit zugänglich und nachvollziehbar gemacht werden. Transparenz und das Ausschöpfen des Datenpotentials sind zentrale Ziele. Die Archivierung, Bereitstellung und Nachnutzung von Daten werfen jedoch auch Fragen auf, bspw. bezogen auf Datenschutz, Forschungsethik, sowie den Aufwand für die Datenaufbereitung, aber auch des Nachnutzungspotenzials der Daten für die wissenschaftliche Community. Beim Online Barcamp Open Data - Forschen mit verfügbaren Daten - möchten wir einen offenen Austausch ermöglichen und über Chancen, Herausforderungen und Anforderungen von offenen Forschungsdaten und der Forschung mit verfügbaren Daten sprechen. Juni das Open Science Barcamp Cologne in der langen Tradition des Open Science Barcamps des Leibniz-Forschungsverbundes Open Science statt. Ursprünglich war geplant den Event mal wieder im Westen der Republik stattfinden zu lassen, nun läuft er aber als online Format, was die Zugänglichkeit noch erhöht. New research group openings on research quality, digital methods and disciplines

Apologies for cross-posting Dear all, in the context of its long-term promotion and development of talent strategy the Berlin University Alliance published the first two calls for junior research groups and, I am glad that these are affiliated to our objective / topic - Advancing Research Quality and Value. One group will be focussing on „Research Quality in and across Disciplines” while the second is addressing the topic „Digital Methods and Research Quality“ (for details please see information given via the links provided below). (I think both topics are also relevant for the Open Science community.) We are looking for outstanding early career researcher, national or international, who already gathered profound scientific experience after their doctorate and who would like to assume the leadership for a Junior Research Group at one of the Berlin University Alliance’s partner institutions. Dear GO FAIR community, Let's celebrate the FAIR shift in research data and science, and pave the way for future activities at the virtual FAIR Festival 2021 on 21-23 June 2021! Meanwhile, the European Open Science Cloud and national research data infrastructures came into place. Where will the journey go from here? The programme will follow a simple structure. Over three days there will be plenary sessions around noon (European timezones) and collaborative workshop sessions in the afternoon. Our plenaries include: 1. Opening: FAIR minds open science 2.
