-- apologies for cross-posting - Dear colleagues, The international Open Science Conference 2025 will be held on October 8-9 in Hamburg. This year's conference will have a special focus on the intersection between Open Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The rapid integration of AI and corresponding tools into scientific research poses both new challenges but also opportunities for Open Science practices and the generation of valuable research knowledge that contributes to solving social, economic, environmental, and digital challenges. This requires a reflection on how this can be aligned with transparency, accessibility, reproducibility, and reusability as core principles of Open Science to ensure robust and reliable research. At this year's Open Science Conference, contributions on the following topics (but not limited to) are welcomed: · Use of AI in support of Open Science (data analytics, science communication, etc.) · Leveraging Open Science to enhance the use of AI in research (Open Source LLMs, high-quality data for AI training, trustworthy AI, eXplainable AI etc.) · Ethics and research integrity in the context of Open Science & AI · Legal perspective on the integration of Open Science & AI (intellectual property, licences) · Meta research regarding the convergence of Open Science & AI · Training and capacity building for effective interplay between Open Science & AI · Infrastructures and tools supporting the synergy of Open Science & AI We invite you to submit a contribution for one of the following calls: · Call for solution sessions · Call for discussion sessions · Call for posters / demos The submission deadline is May 23. Hallo zusammen, die Europäische Open Science Cloud (EOSC) hat das Ziel, in Europa einen integrativen und offenen Raum für den Austausch und die Nutzung wissenschaftlicher Forschungsdaten zu schaffen. Die Aufbauphase der so genannten “EOSC Föderation” hat mittlerweile begonnen, wichtige Entscheidungen wurden getroffen und Maßnahmen zur Weiterentwicklung der Föderation festgelegt. Um darüber zu informieren, lädt die ZBW – Leibniz Informationszentrum Wirtschaft Euch am Donnerstag, den 8. Mai 2025, von 16-17 Uhr zur fünften EOSC Coffee Lecture ein. Diese Coffee Lecture stellt folgende Inhalte in den Mittelpunkt: o Aufbau der EOSC Föderation o Identifikation von EOSC Kandidaten-Knoten o Zeitplan bis zum EOSC Symposium 2025 o EOSC Föderationshandbuch o Zukunft der EOSC post-2027 Durch das einstündige, deutschsprachige Webinar (30 min Vortrag, 30 min Fragen/Diskussion) führt Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochtermann, Direktor der ZBW und Mitglied im Board of Directors der EOSC Association sowie involviert in mehrere Konsortien der NFDI und Mitglied im NFDI-Senat. Die EOSC Coffee Lectures richten sich an alle, die sich in ihrer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit mit Forschungsdaten beschäftigen oder an der Umsetzung und dem Betrieb von Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen beteiligt sind.
