Hi BRlin group,
If you are following the Extinction Rebellion movement, you will probably already know there is a very active and fast-growing group in Berlin...
in short: Their focus is to demand more action on climate breakdown and the ecological crises ! You can read more about them here:
https://xrebellion.org/ ( international)
On Monday the Berlin groups are organizing a *registered* demo (
technically, no risk ) in front of the Bundeskanzleramt... 17h ...
to draw attention to the destruction of the Amazon, and put
pressure on EU trade with Brasil...
One of their frequent tactics is to have Die-Ins... ( there is one 2day at Gendarmenmarkt at NOON )...
And this will be part of what will happen on Monday as well... (
you could read more below... in a quick post to me last nite, so i
could send it out to this list and others who i know involved in
Indigenous struggles, Amazon, Brasil topics )...
PLease free to show up, support, take part...
The main orgainizer for this particular action is Claire Wordley, but i do not yet have a contact for her...
There could be an invite for this action already on Fbook ... and should be posted to the Veranstaltung page here:
https://extinctionrebellion.de/veranstaltungen/ ( de events )
That's all i have time for now...
Perhaps i can come back and share those links later 2day...
in solidarity !
Paolo

@all Hello all, so I've registered to read out the scientist's
letter about the Brazil-EU trade at 5pm on Monday 29. April at the
Bundeskanzleramt. The point of this is to get media attention to
the implications of this trade deal, and also to get media
attention for XR in Germany as a serious group. My idea was to
have a short explanation of why this trade deal matters so much,
in English and in German, and why we are standing up for the
forests and Indigenous peoples affected by our consumption in
Europe. Then we read the very short letter, also in English and
German, which was signed by scientists working in every EU country
and 300 Indigenous groups from Brazil. We can have pictures of the
Amazon and the people and animals that live there, and pictures of
what it is being cut down for; beef and soy, mostly for livestock
feed. Then we have a short die-in.
We need people to come and hold pictures and die (you will come
back to life quickly), and people to reach out to journalists
Now for a terrible automated German translation...
@all Hello all, also habe ich mich angemeldet, um am Freitag, den
